Arriving back home to Calgary Alberta in 2009 and opening their restaurant in 2010 to national acclaim, CHARCUT appeared in enRoute Magazine’s coveted ‘Top Ten New Restaurants’ list later that same year. Their restaurants were honoured by Maclean’s Magazine as one of Canada’s top 50 restaurants. The owners were awarded the top Canadian independent restaurateurs award by Foodservice and Hospitality magazine, received Top 40 Under 40 designation by Avenue Magazine and Top Chefs under 40 by Western Living Magazine. They were named as one of the top five restaurants in Canada by Vacay.ca.  Also in 2013, the restaurant owners received Tourism Calgary's prestigious White Hat Award.  Chef Connie is a current Judge on the Food Networks Fire Masters, was a Top Chef Canada finalists and both Connie and John have appeared on many other local and international shows. Their restaurants have garnered a substantial fan base, ultimately growing its existing clientele and positioning Calgary and its local favorite restaurants status as an Alberta-must.
