Group, Sterling Cummings has been a driving force behind some of Calgary's most
celebrated restaurants.
His journey in hospitality began at age 14 and is fueled by a simple philosophy passed on to
the many cooks he now mentors: never stop learning, be curious, listen to those who have
been there, and enjoy the ride. This approach has seen him play an instrumental role in
shaping beloved concepts like Bridgette Bar, Lulu Bar, and Lonely Mouth, always with a
focus on creating unique brands and building strong teams.
While personal accolades, like a regional podium finish at Canada's Great Kitchen Party,
are a highlight, Sterling finds the most meaning in shared success, such as helping Lonely
Mouth (2023 #77) and Bridgette Bar (2020 #35) earn a spot among Canada’s top
restaurants. He credits key mentors like Kevin Hill and JP Pedhirney for shaping not only his
approach in the kitchen but also his understanding of growing businesses and relentlessly
developing people.
