THE HIKE

Registration & Artisan Market (10:30 am)

Upon arrival at Elliston Municipal Park, you will need to check into the registration booth. Here you will present your tickets and in exchange, you will receive your registration package. If you checked in prior to The Hike you will not need to check in again.

Please wait in the Artisan Market area to hear important announcements about The Hike.

Your registration package will include:

 - event wristbands, please put on immediately 

 - event booklet

 - wine glass (please reuse this glass all weekend)

*If you have tickets for multiple events, you will receive everything you need when you check-in for your first event.

Take some time to browse the Artisan Market before the Hike begins.

The Hike Begins (11:30 am – 2:30 pm)

The Hike begins at 11:30 am. The opening of chef stations is staggered; therefore, not all stations open at 11:30 am.

Please be patient, remember our come from away chefs may not be accustomed to Newfoundland’s weather and may need some extra time to get ready.

Along The Hike you will find six chef stations (locations are outlined in the event booklet), each chef has prepared a spectacular dish featuring local Newfoundland and Labrador ingredients. Our chefs have prepared enough for everyone to enjoy each station, so please only visit each one once.

In addition to the chef stations, there is also one wine sampling station and one beer sampling station. Please be kind to our servers, due to NL Liquor regulations they are only permitted to pour a 2-ounce serving of wine and a 4-oz serving of beer.

Dessert Picnic (2:00 pm)

Once you have completed The Hike, we invite you to Gary Baker Memorial Park to indulge in our Dessert Picnic. There will be assorted desserts prepared by local pastry chefs as well as traditional Newfoundland sweets prepared by the team from Nanny’s Root Cellar Kitchen. Paired with locally roasted coffee and tea.

Entertainment

There are musicians at each station along the route, each group performs for two hours each, therefore there will not be music during the entire hike.

Like the chef stations, performances are staggered; therefore not all entertainment starts at 11:30 am.

Shuttle

The shuttle bus will depart the entrance of Elliston Municipal Park at 3:15 pm.

Additional Information

It is important to note that there is no cell phone service in Elliston:

• you should make alternate transportation arrangements prior to coming into the park. 

• there will be very little social media or email communications from the organizers

• we will be accepting credit or debit for payments on site
